First Aid Kit managed to put me to sleep standing up at this year’s Golden Plains. Can’t really blame them, intimate folk is rarely flattered by the Supernatural Amphitheatre PA. Plus I was way wankered. The opening line to Wolf reads “Wolf mother, we have you been?” which tempted me to make a joke along the lines of “they’ve been on tour with Smashing Pumpkins” but that is a terrible joke so I won’t make it. But anyway, Wolf is a mighty impressive take on Americana folk, rivalling that of Fleet Foxes – the band which the Swedish twins covered and gained their breakthrough YouTube exposure.
