The Atrium at Kindred Studios
words by staff writer

Plus, construction is now underway on an expansion to double in size open for custom studios and creative spaces EOI’s. The expansion will make Kindred the largest independent, privately owned creative hub in Melbourne.

General Manager Cherie Warwick says people know them for music, as it’s part of their DNA. But Kindred Studios is also a place for ideas, movement, collaboration and celebration. They have spaces that people often don’t realise exist, and they’re full of life when in use.

Pat Panetta operates his podcast studio Tell Your Story Media at Kindred Studios, calling the move one of his best business decisions. His clients come into a creative space with a cafe, boardroom, meeting rooms and welcoming environment.

Since 2005, Kindred Studios has been a home for original live music and a meeting place for Melbourne’s creative community, where bands rehearse, artists create and ideas collide. As one of the few 250 capacity spaces in the city’s inner west with a regular live music program, it supports emerging and established acts. In 2016, Lonely Planet named it one of the Top Ten Workspaces.

With a cafe, bar, recording studios and performance spaces under one roof, the venue operates as a creative ecosystem where music meets movement and community comes to life. Tours are available for anyone wanting to explore what sits inside the Yarraville hub.
