Legendary South Australian hardcore act The Mark of Cain are back on the scene, with a new album due out early this year. Barkhammer is an electric single, with what is now an almost retro stadium metal sound, a thousand pound bass line, gunning lead guitar and heavy melodic chorus. It’s very good. Meanwhile, someone told me The Mark of Cain are a white supremist band the other day and I was like ‘What? No.’ But come to think of it, that is one unfortunate band name. Unless they ARE a white supremist band, in which case it’s super appropriate. (Ok I checked. They aren’t. High five, The Mark of Cain, for being confusing but not racist.)
