New Found Glory : Radiosurgery

Radiosurgery is disappointing because it does nothing that NFG haven’t done before. It’s pop punk, and for better or worse. I’ve always loved me a bit of pop punk, but it’s just getting tired now. With tracks named Anthem for the Unwanted and Memories and Battle Scars, and lyrics like “I can’t get your face out of my head/it makes my brain hurt”, it’s basically pop punk by numbers.

They were singing about the same stuff (girls, heartbreak, being a pussy) back in 2000. I didn’t mind so much back then because I was 11 and could fully relate, but now I just want to tell them to grow a pair of balls and screw a chick over for a change.

New Found Glory have the talent to put out really great records, I know this for a fact because they’ve done it before. Sadly, Radiosurgery just isn’t one of them.
