The Count With… Only The Sea Slugs

onlytheseaslugs.jpg

Name/Band:

Sasha Mischevski of Only The Sea Slugs

Ten bands everyone should know about:

Le Kingste, Witch Hats, Andre 3000, Wu Tang Clan, Hello Vera, Dino Merlin, Ghoul, Grizzly Bear, The Unknown Mongs Of Mongolia and The Chinese Swimming Team.

Nine food items that you need to make a kickarse dinner party:

Cheese from a goat in Macedonia, wine from a cellar in northern France, dough from a Bavarian bakery, anchovies (alive!), chicken from a cocky farmer, vegetables (only green ones), salad (only green ones), oil of Western Madagascar and olives from the eastern wetlands of Cyprus.

Eight possessions that define you:

Hat, Vans, van, skateboard, smashed phone, moustache (fluff), destroyed instruments, and jeans with crotch tear.

Seven favourite movies/TV shows that go on your mix-tape:

The Office, Eastbound And Down, Extras, Superbad, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Stupid Lifestyle Of Zoran and Kill Bill.

Six bad habits you can’t escape:

Procrastination, hypochondria, paranoia, smoking, teasing (excessively) and hyper-extension curls at Fitness First on Friday.

Five people who inspire you:

David Byrne, David Brent, Larry David, David Attenborough and David Bowie.

Four things that turn you on:

Amazing female feet, a finished song, a landed trick and the moon’s reflection of her feet landing a trick to my favourite song.

Three goals for your music:

To be in elevators in accountancy firms, to be in foyers of the richest hotels in France and to be in the headphones of the real people on Earth.

A live gig you’ll never forget and why:

The Metro supporting British India in 2009. We played to an electric full house. We were called for an encore, Zoran was fortunate to fall in love for a few hours and we were fooled into feeling like a ‘big band’ for 40 minutes. Fresh.

One day left before the apocalypse and you…:

Wake up early, hug my family and dogs, catch a flight to Tahiti, skydive out of the plane prior to landing, land in the water in a seven metre swell, catch the biggest wave I can see. Fly home, have dinner with family and friends and end it off with one long ramming session.

When’s the gig / release?

Street Music is available via iTunes now. Our Street Music Tour show is on Thursday October 27 at Yah Yah’s in Fitzroy.
