Melbourne’s ‘Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever’ returns for 2018

If you ever don a red dress, red stockings, and a black belt and go swanning around Melbourne’s inner-north parks with reckless abandon – get ready to do it again, but this time for good reason. Yes, the Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever is happening in Melbourne on Saturday 14 July.

Everyone must wear Kate Bush’s iconic garb from the ‘Wuthering Heights’ video, and be prepared to whip out their best witch-meets-ocean tide boog. Get your costume ready early – the red dress is not optional, boys – and make your way down to Edinburgh Gardens to lament your one dream, your one master, your Heathcliff.

Registration is by donation, and a cake competition will be heating up the rotunda in celebration of Bush’s 60th and Bronte’s 200th birthdays. All proceeds go towards the day’s charity partners, Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre and the Alannah & Madeline Foundation.

Perhaps the question still stands: why? Well, for the sheer exhilaration: life’s not a transaction, so remember to let your hair down, let out your inner Kate Bush, and let yourself Wuther.
