TIFU – a world famous, hilarious and cringe worthy Reddit-based rabbit hole on the edge of the internet. If you trawl thread after thread, you find funny tidbits about people locking themselves in toilets, parenting fails for the ages, and just general fuck-ups that make you feel a whole lot better about yourself.
Well, you’re about to feel pretty good. Fans of the California rock staple, Red Hot Chili Peppers, have been buying tickets to see their faves for bargain prices – with one catch. It’s not RHCP; instead, they’re booking in to see the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. Dubbed ‘ the most famous bagpipe band on the planet,’ the Scots play covers of classic rock tunes such as Avicii’s ‘Wake Me Up’ and Queen’s ‘We Will Rock You’.
Some unlucky punters, however, were not altogether impressed by their own misreading. One fan wrote about his dilemma on Reddit, explaining that “the music was great… but I was waiting for the Red Hot Chili Peppers to come out. I turned to the man next to me and asked when the [RHCP] were coming on [and] he laughed. It was at this moment I realised I was not going to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers.”
Another fan flew all the way from England to Ireland, believing they were going to see the rock icons for Valentine’s Day. Needless to say, they were surprised; Twitter user @Dunc_Cfc thoguht he’d “got a good deal on tickets n’ all.”
As devastating as this is, most of the drongos seemed to enjoy themselves once they got over the initial shock. Let this be a lesson to you; read the fine print, or else hand yourself into your local police station for scalping yourself.
