Marysville Music Weekend is heading back to the streets for a three-day celebration of live music and local flavour.
Come November 2026, the much-loved regional Victorian festival kicks off a fresh chapter, with Marysville Music Weekend spreading live music across the township in a walkable weekend of bands, bites, drinks and community. First launched in 2015 as the Marysville Jazz and Blues Weekend, the festival was born in the wake of the Black Saturday bushfires, dreamed up to help breathe life back into the town and bring visitors through in a quieter season.
Since then, Marysville Music Weekend has pulled a seriously solid run of Australian talent, building a reputation as one of the state’s most-loved small festivals. Names like Kate Ceberano, The Black Sorrows, Vika and Linda, James Morrison, Pierce Brothers and William Crighton have all graced the bill. The sound may have stretched well beyond its original jazz and blues brief, but the mission has stayed the same: champion great Australian artists, back emerging regional talent, and make the most of Marysville’s knockout mountain backdrop.

Like plenty of festivals around the country, Marysville Music Weekend copped it during the pandemic years. Delays and postponements kept everyone guessing, but the festival held on.
Now, with fresh energy from Triangle Arts Group and support from Murrindindi Shire Council’s Events of Major Significance grant, the festival is heading right back to where it belongs: the heart of town. Instead of locking everything into one venue, the new format will light up stages across Marysville, nudging punters to roam the streets, duck into local businesses and soak up the character that makes this mountain town a gem.
Expect to wander between venues, catch live sets in unexpected corners, grab a feed or a drink, and settle into a festival vibe that spills well beyond the stage.
For local musicians, volunteers and community groups, bringing the event back across the whole town means something bigger: ownership. Marysville Music Weekend has never just been about the bands. It’s a community-built festival, shaped by the people who live there and powered by the people who pitch in.
Alongside a lineup spanning local, regional and touring acts, the weekend will open up space for community involvement, volunteer action and local business activation.
At a time when plenty of festivals are feeling the squeeze, Marysville Music Weekend is carving out its own lane, built on authenticity, connection and the thrill of finding great music in a stunning regional setting. For one weekend, the whole town becomes the festival.
The Marysville Music Weekend is presented by the Triangle Arts Group, with support from Murrindindi Shire Council, and accommodation partner Peppers Hotel Marysville, with support from Cindy McLeish, and media partners UGFM.
