Goths on ice: There’s an emo ice skating night on this weekend

Emo Ice Skating

Swipe on that black eyeliners and lace up those skates.

You heard that right. On the night of March 4, Melbourne’s newest ice rink, IceHQ, is hosting an emo ice skating night. The rink will be transformed into an angsty sing-along featuring music from all of the best emo and pop punk legends.

At the low, low price of $24 for adults, $20 concession and $12 for kids, you can tear up the ice to tracks from My Chemical Romance, All Time Low, Fall Out Boy, Panic At The Disco, Blink 182, Jimmy Eat World, Paramore and so many more.

Ice Skating Emo Night

  • IceHQ is hosting emo night on Saturday March 4 from 6:30-9:30pm
  • Skate hire is free with entry
  • Dress up as your favourite band members to win prizes

The IceHQ skating rink also features a café with hot food, a heated viewing deck and a bar on site that will be slinging themed cocktails for the special occasion (Sugar We’re Going Down Sipping?) so you won’t have to spend your Saturday night sober. Just don’t have a little too many and try to do a triple Salchow – falling on ice is painful, perhaps even more so than the undying pain inside.

And don’t forget to dress the part. Don the attire of your favourite emo band member and you’ll be in the running to win one of the costume contest prizes. We’re talking black fringed wigs, face paint, ripped skinny jeans, piercings – do what you’ve got to do. But, of course, normies are welcome as well.
