English indie-rock trio White Lies have announced two Australian shows to promote the release of their second album Rituals.

Before heading off on a US tour, White Lies have decided to sweep through Australia to perform in both Melbourne and Sydney. The rushed schedule sees them appear in both cities within two days.

Since their debut album To Lose My Life hit number 1 on the UK charts in 2009, selling more than 750,000 copies globally, White Lies has been busy touring and recording culminating in their latest album release Rituals. Described as a mix of Interpol and Joy Division, the band has gained an immense popularity in the UK, with 38,000 people applying for the 400 tickets available at their latest concert.

White Liesexposure is expected to sky rocket with yesterday’s debut of their new music video for single Strangers. Incorporating the NSFW Chatroulette craze, the video features a montage of fetish clips filled with enough views of leather, drag queens and blow up dolls to last you a lifetime. If you really want the whole Strangers experience you can visit their now-viral webpage weareallstrangers.com. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

In the much more safe-for-work concert, Harry McVeigh (vocals), Charles Cave (bass) and Jack Lawrence-Brown (drummer) will be joined by sidemen Robert Lee and Thomas Bowen to perform past hits right up to their new single Bigger Than Us.

Catch White Lies in Melbourne at the Prince Bandroom on Friday April 8.
