Australian folk-rock group Boy & Bear will return to Australia for a national tour this Autumn.
Following a successful UK tour last December, Boy & Bear will travel throughout Australia appearing in all major cities as well as a more regional areas including Newcastle, Fremantle, Wollongong and Geelong.
The band has had a successful year with the release of the debut EP With Emperor Antarctica becoming the second highest selling physical EP last year in the ARIA charts. They were also the recipient of last year’s triple j Unearthed J Award and a Rolling Stone Award for Artist to Watch. Finally. both their own track Rabbit Song as well as their cover of Crowded House’s Fall At Your Feet landed in triple j’s Hottest 100 for 2010.
However, expect some new material soon with the band heading to the US to record with Joe Chiccarelli (White Stripes, The Strokes, The Shins) and perform at the South by South West Festival in Austin, Texas.
Boy & Bear will be peforming at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Friday May 27. Tickets on sale March 3.
