Violent Soho have announced their return to the live stage with three headline shows across Australia's east coast this September.

The Brisbane rock four-piece went on indefinite hiatus back in 2022 after close to two decades of touring and recording. Now, Violent Soho are stepping back out with a run of headline dates presented by triple j, touching down in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane across September.

The announcement lands alongside the 10th anniversary of the band’s fourth album WACO, which debuted at number one on the ARIA Charts back in 2016 and is being celebrated with a limited-edition vinyl pressing. Members James Tidswell and Luke Boerdam also appeared onstage with Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus at the Sydney Opera House last month, fuelling plenty of fan chatter about a potential comeback.

Violent Soho

  • 11 September — Enmore Theatre, Sydney (with Beddy Rays and Teenage Joans)
  • 18 September — Forum, Melbourne (with Beddy Rays and Secret World)
  • 25 September — Fortitude Music Hall, Brisbane (with Beddy Rays)

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

Brisbane rock outfit Beddy Rays will join the band on all three dates, with Adelaide duo Teenage Joans opening the Sydney show and Secret World rounding out the bill in Melbourne.

Pre-sale tickets go live at 10am local time on 23 April through the band’s mailing list at violentsoho.com. General sale follows from 10am local on 24 April.

The WACO anniversary edition comes in two formats: a standard LP on clear/red splatter and a deluxe 2LP on clear/red splatter and clear/black splatter. The deluxe version packs in previously unheard B-sides, live recordings from Splendour in the Grass in 2016 and 2022, cuts from the band’s storied Mansfield Tavern Christmas shows and their Like a Version cover of Silversun Pickups’ Lazy Eye. The vinyl ships from 8 May.

Formed in the Brisbane suburb of Mansfield in 2004, Violent Soho have collected two ARIA Awards for best rock album and best group, an AIR Award for best hard rock, metal or punk album, and stacked up multiple platinum and gold singles across their career. Their last two studio albums, WACO and Everything Is A-OK, both debuted at number one on the ARIA Charts, and a 2023 repress of Hungry Ghost also hit the top spot.
