Cancel those flights to Bali and embrace the food and culture of Indonesia right here at home.

Whether you’re an expat looking for a taste of home or just a fan of Indonesian flavours and traditions, this two-day celebration has everything you need.

Held at the Old Melbourne Gaol on July 28 and 29, the Alun-Alun night market will feature entertainment, shopping and all the nasi goreng you can handle.

Indonesian Festival Melbourne 2023

  • There’s an Indonesia night market going on at the Old Melbourne Gaol this July 28 and 29

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

At night, see music and dance performances, including special guests Feel Koplo who have flown in specifically for the event. Other highlights include Arsy + Yovie Widianto, Band Kjri, Shelby and Friends, Mojang Angklung, Temulawak and more. From classic to contemporary, the lineup covers all the bases.

Cozy up on one of the comfortable bean bags or find a spot at a standing table to watch the shows while you sample some of the fine cuisine.

Food for the evening will be brought by the major Indonesian food company Indofoods (who make the ever-popular Indomie instant noodles), as well as Cinta Restaurant, Eclectic Kitchen, PBK Noodles and more. And don’t forget the sweets – make sure you slurp up a pandan boat from Kaki Lima.

There will also be an on-site photo booth where you can snap some pics, a games area and market stalls flanking the stage. Shop Arun-Arun merch including tote bags, stickers and graphic T-shirts.

Tickets to the Arun-Arun Indonesian Festival are on sale now. To grab yours and find out more, head here.
