Ahh, the sweet smell of dirt and diesel in the air.

Get ready to freaking rumble, because Monster Jam – the world’s favourite mega-truck event – is returning to Melbourne for one massive day on October 7.

Grease up that mullet, slam an (imported) Bud Lite and embrace your inner redneck, because there’s no better Saturday activity than hanging out in the stadium stands watching gas-guzzling giants spit fire and smoke while spinning and flipping in the mud. That’s freedom, baby!

Monster Jam Melbourne 2023

  • The travelling truck event will take place at AAMI Park on October 7
  • Watch a variety of competitions including the race, the skills challenge, the donut competition and the freestyle challenge
  • There will also be a pit party where fans can meet the drivers and get up close and personal with their favourite cars

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

The 12,000-pound (that’s 5445 kilos for us Aussies) trucks have a whopping 1500 horse power engine, ridiculously large wheels and a purpose-built fibreglass frame. This year, crowd favourites including the Monster Mutt, the Grave Digger, Brutus and the Raminator are set to make appearances.

Watch them pogo, wheelie and catch big air as the drivers show off their skill, speed and vehicular prowess. Then bring the family down to the Pit Party, where you can meet the talent, see the sweet rides up close and get your hands on mini take-home versions of the coolest trucks.

Started in the early ’90s, the Monster Jam is a travelling truck event based out of Florida. Each year, they host a ‘monster truck Super Bowl’, typically in Las Vegas, where the competitors fight for the top spot.

Tickets to Monster Jam Melbourne will go on sale on August 1. For more information and to grab yours, head here
