The first taste of The Vanturas’ upcoming debut album is a no-nonsense lil’ belter, flirting with rockabilly and a trace of horror country but ultimately playing it straight. The chorus hook doesn’t quite live up to the promise of the menacing verse, but Tightrope still holds up as a worthwhile burst of rock‘n’roll swagger.
