The last thing I thought I’d be saying about a track from an acoustic singer-songwriter is “this beat is dope”. However, this beat is dope. Love Gets Sweeter isn’t quite as saccharine as the title implies, but it’s a breezy display of acoustic noodling over a crisp layer of handclaps. Something about it brings back memories of mainstream ‘90s folk, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
