Human Love Quest is taking over Brunswick Ballroom on 24 February for a live dating show experience.
If swiping through dating apps on your couch has lost its charm, Human Love Quest might be worth a look. The live onstage dating show, presented by Xander Allan, Conor Gallacher and The Captain, brings the golden age of television dating formats into the present day. Three hopefuls compete for the attention of one solo contestant, and the whole thing plays out in front of a live audience.
Human Love Quest has been running since 2021 and positions itself as an antidote to the detached nature of modern dating apps. The show is all-inclusive, welcoming contestants regardless of how they identify, their age group, or what they’re looking for. Anyone keen to participate can fill out an expression of interest form, which includes a vetting process to ensure each round features compatible humans.

The format includes two rounds of dating throughout the evening. Each successfully matched couple receives a complimentary bottle of bubbles and a private seat downstairs at the Brunswick Artists Bar, away from the main crowd but still in a comfortable public space. There’s no pressure to see each other again after the show.
Beyond the main dating rounds, the night also features Ahoy There, a live reading of submitted love notes from secret admirers in the audience. The organisers maintain a zero-tolerance policy against intolerant and anti-social behaviour, aiming to create an environment where everyone feels safe and comfortable.
