This year, the event will be headlined by the incredibly talented First Nations artist, writer and producer Sycco, also known as Sash McLeod. Best known for singles including Nicotine, Dribble and Starboard Square, she’ll be getting fans in the mood to party with her upbeat bedroom pop tunes.

Joining her on the stage will be renowned queer pop artists JXCKY and Kira Puru, along with Tom Nethersole and indie-rock singer Rin McArdle offering a unique and diverse listening experience.

The Pride Street Party is not just a musical extravaganza – it’s a free and inclusive festival featuring comedy, circus acts, drag shows and art installations spread across multiple venues. From 11 am to 9:30 pm, festival-goers can explore community and food stalls, engage in immersive activities and watch dazzling and exhilarating street performances.

The Pride Street Party is only one of the many LGBTQIA+ events set to take place in the coming weeks. Running from January 21 to February 11, Midsumma Festival is an explosion of creativity and queer joy.

From the massive Midsumma Carnival on opening day to more specific events including Queer PHOTO, the Pride Ride and the Afloat Pool Party, there’s truly something on the program for everyone (and a lot of it is free).
