Scienceworks is turning the Melbourne Planetarium into a queer space this Pride Month.

The stars have always had stories to tell, and this June, Scienceworks is making sure some of those stories are a little more queer.

The Pride Month Stargayzing Show is a special presenter-led planetarium experience running every Saturday in June at Scienceworks’ Melbourne Planetarium in Spotswood.

The Pride Month Stargayzing Show takes visitors on a fulldome journey through the night sky, exploring LGBTQIA+ stories hidden in the constellations, planets and other corners of our solar system. Each 45-minute session is presenter-led, meaning no two shows are identical since the content shifts depending on which stars and planets are actually visible that night.

The show runs four Saturdays across the month, on 6, 13, 20 and 27 June, with sessions from 3pm to 3:45pm. Tickets are affordable across the board, with concession and under-16 pricing both sitting at $10, making it a solid option for a wide range of visitors.

Tickets are available now through the Museums Victoria website. Members get in for $8, so it’s worth checking whether a membership makes sense if you’re planning to visit more than once across the month.
