Randy Travis : Anniversary 25 Celebration

When Randy Traywick hit Nashville in 1976, he chopped the wick off his surname and recorded as Randy Ray, going on to win seven Grammy awards as Randy Travis.

Travis, now 52, has cut eight new tunes – such as entrée Everything And All -T.I.M.E., Someone You Never Knew and Too Much with Brad Paisley, Josh Turner, Eamonn McCrystal and James Otto.

Randy’s duet with fellow baritone Turner rivals his teaming with singing actors Willie Nelson and Kristofferson on Road To Surrender. He excels on classic hits – A Few Ole Country Boys with nouveau outlaw Jamey Johnson and Georgian Zac Brown on Forever And Ever Amen.

Alan Jackson (another Georgian superstar) maximises nostalgia on medley – Better Class of Loser and She’s Got The Rhythm and I Got The Blues.

Floridian honky tonker John Anderson mines melancholia of Diggin’ Up Bones and Kenny Chesney rolls with the flow on He Walked On Water.

His duet with Shelby Lynne on Promises jerks tears akin to Is It Still Over with Carrie Underwood.

The all-star Didn’t We Shine with octogenarian Ray Price and fellow Texans George Jones and Gene Watson, Joe Stampley, Lorrie Morgan & Connie Smith is a fitting segue to his reprised entrée finale.

Best Tracks : Diggin’ Up Bones and A Few Ole Country Boys.

If You Dig These, You’ll Dig This: Greatest Hits JOHN ANDERSON, Greatest Hits GEORGE JONES.
