The Andrew Lloyd-Webber classic, which has been a staple of the arts scene for around 40 years, is extending its Melbourne run into February.
Good news to all Andrew Lloyd Webber stans out there, the Melbourne production of Phantom of the Opera is extending its season until February 18, with tickets for the new performances on sale today. The musical has received much attention thanks to its detailed costumes, set design and music, making it one of the most difficult musicals to replicate.

Australian musical theatre stalwart David Whitney plays Monsieur Firmin, Andy Morton returns to the stage as Monsieur Andrè and soprano Giuseppina Grech plays Carlotta Guidicelli. Madame Giry is played by Jayde Westaby, while classical crossover artist Paul Tabone plays Ubaldo Piangi, and newcomer Mietta White plays young ballerina Meg Giry.
