The Vic Bar Art Exhibitions runs on a simple loop. Each month, a new local artist moves in and the artwork switches over with them, bringing a different look, mood and creative energy to the space.
The exhibition officially opens on the second Tuesday of every month, and that opening is the chance to meet the artist, hear about their practice and the thinking behind the work, and grab a drink.
The setting is informal and welcoming, so artists, guests and the wider community can hang out and chat art.

Right now, the walls belong to Zane Reynolds, whose exhibition Sent for Green Caviar is all about the fleeting nature of desire. Reynolds is interested in how quickly an exciting encounter can turn into a memory, and how something that felt like a big deal at the time can get lost as the days pass. His current works are pictured in this story.
If a piece catches your eye, it’s up for grabs. All artwork stays available for purchase for the whole run of each exhibition, so guests can take a piece of the show home with them.
