Melbourne International Jazz Festival unveils 2017 lineup

Across ten days and in venues spanning legendary venues to intimate clubs, over 120 events will take over the city – bolstered by capstone performances, New Orleans-style street parties, and more. 

Featuring nearly 500 Australian, international and emerging artists, program highlights include Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles (US), Dianne Reeves (USA), Tigran Hamasyan (Armenia), Satoko Fujii (Japan), Kenny Barron (USA), Vince Jones (Australia), Andrea Keller (Australia), The Steve McQueens (Singapore), Myele Manzanza (New Zealand), Pascal Schumacher (Luxembourg), Yotam Silberstein Quartet (Israel), NAK Trio (Poland) and MaxMantis (Switzerland). 

Elsewhere, legendary US-based guitarist Bill Frissell makes his way to the stage alongside offering a masterclass, David Bowie collaborators The Donny McCaslin Group will head Down Under and The Necks will christen Melbourne’s newest jazz club – The Jazzlab. 

Rounding it out comes festival-exclusive events including an Ella Fitzgerald tribute, a scorching Jazz Out West program featuring Au Dré, Shio, Senegambian Jazz Band, Maria Moles and Adam Halliwell, Music Yared and Gospel Sunday sessions.
