Matthew Morrison plays choirmaster Will Schuester in Glee and he is one wrong individual. On television, he is camouflaged by a hip-in-context character, but in the outside world his wrongness comes out in screaming technicolour. It’s because Morrison is disturbingly like his on-screen character – a Broadway-loving, over-annunciating singer with a penchant for cheeseball folk pop love songs. Summer Rain is my case in point; an unbelievably pappy slice of American Top 40; a Jack Johnson-esque ode to rooftop lovemaking that is a) bizarrely sexless and b) totally lame. Dude is one big bag of cornball.
