Words by Staff Writer

Bojana Novakovic (Love Me) and Johnny Carr (Five Bedrooms) star in a visceral and haunting epic of the 11th century on stage. Lady Macbeth has a vision to unleash the forces of change and renewal-and to seize control of the kingdom.

Malthouse Theatre Artistic Director Matthew Lutton crafts a grand spectacle, igniting a historic battle of power in a world rife with superstition and the supernatural.

Finally, Lady Macbeth takes her rightful place. The path to freedom is sometimes stained with blood. Scottish playwright Zinnie Harris is a multi-award winning theatre maker and renowned for her feminist
interpretations of theatrical classics including reimagined versions of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House, Webster’s The Duchess of Malfi and the classic Greek trilogy The Oresteia by Aeschylus. She has been commissioned by The Royal Court Theatre, Royal National Theatre, The National Theatre of Scotland and the Royal Shakespeare Company and her plays have been translated and performed in multiple countries across Europe and the globe.
