What’s the band name and what do you do in the band? Our band’s name is Localles. I’m Ted and I sing and play guitar.
What do you reckon people will say you sound like?Good grunge pop with a bit of punk thrown in.
What do you love about making music? I love being able to be around good people who also love making music. I love when a song actually turns out sounding OK, and I love being able to share our music with audiences – and watch others create amazing stuff.
What do you hate about the music industry?I hate that it hasn’t made me enough money to own a tropical island of my very own. Is that too much to ask?
If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?Probably the late ‘60s/ early ‘70s version of Lou Reed. Velvet Underground and his first two solo records encompass a lot of what I hold in high regard as far as songwriting goes, so I would love to hear some feedback from him. Although I have heard that he could be pretty grumpy, so that might backfire.
If you could assassinate one person or band from popular music, who would it and why? Mark David Chapman. He’s not technically part of popular music, but by killing John Lennon he changed the course of it. Who knows how many more incredible songs Lennon would have come up with if he’d lived?
What can a punter expect from your live show?Excitement, sweat, good banter and a very very good version of the running man, courtesy of our keys player Michael Fitzgerald. Oh and good music too.
What’ve you got to sell CD-wise?We’ve just released our EP, Not a Contender. Five tracks that I’m pretty happy with.
Anything else to add? Always look up from your phone when you are about to cross a road. Don’t wear glitter if you have shag pile carpet.
