The opening track from Little Red’s long player Midnight Remember sounds like Phoenix. The band has long since abandoned its twee sixties rock and roll aesthetic and embraced, in this post-Animal Collective and Vampire Weekend world, a swinging, glittery synth pop style. The song is alright, as far as that goes, a soft, romantic disco glazer, but god…their shameless, lyrebird-like appropriation of the ‘it’ sound is just embarrassing.
