Much like how guest guitarist Matt Bellamy’s full-time outfit fused dubstep and rock on their most recent album, Kimbra becomes a trap-rock pioneer on the curious 90s Music. It’s a stylistic cul-de-sac, as it was with Muse’s experimentation, but an incredibly interesting one at that. Ya boi was only sorta-joking when pulling trap arms during Kimbra’s set at The Forum on the weekend, preceding Janelle Monae’s unfortunately cancelled appearance. #getwelljanelle
