Define your genre in five words or less:

“Genres suck. We are rock and roll.”

Someone is walking past as you guys are playing, they then go get a beer and tell their friend about you… what do they say?

“Well, if they can get through the crowd and actually find their friends they might attempt to yell something along the lines of ‘This is intense, come check this out!!'”

How long have you been gigging and writing?

“Been gigging for a year or so and writing since we can remember. Taking in mind we don’t remember a whole lot…”

What has been your favourite gig you’ve played to date?

“Our last gig at Pony was by far one of our favorites. In saying that, any of our shows with a trashed stage and a half-cut screaming crowd yelling for another song usually ends up going pretty well.”

Which band would you most like to have a battle/showdown with?

“It’s not really a battle between bands, it’s more for what the crowd has a taste for. It’s who puts on a good show and does something you won’t forget. Seeing a Junk & Jill show definitely delivers this and more. Playing with other awesome local bands and having a good night is the most important part.”

What inspires or has influenced your music the most?

“Well, different things influence each of us individually. Any music or artwork that grabs our attention, moments in life that were bizarre and uncalled for, cheeky times in adolescence and pretty much any time we see a live band play and think ‘fuck we should be playing right now!'”

What do you think a band has to do these days to succeed?

“Wish we knew. We’ll just keep doing what we do and go from there.”

Do you have any releases to date? What? Where can I get it?

“Yeah! Our debut EP Sketching Ponies will be released this Friday April 15. You can grab a copy at any of our shows or online at junkandjill.com.”

Why should everyone come and see your band?

“Our shows are crazy, the music is great, we’re good looking dudes and the booze is cheap.”
