Jazz flair, flamenco and folk ballads, the Edinburgh Castle is brewing something special this month

As Brunswick's oldest-standing pub, the Edinburgh Castle has been a long-lived favourite among the community, constantly delivering some of the best live music acts in the suburb.

The following features the exciting shows the pub is bringing for the remainder of the month. From sweet country ballads to indie-gypsy tunes, the lineup serves a divergent mayhem of artistry that is guaranteed to bring fantastic atmospheres inside its large mural-decorated brick walls.

Aside from being known for its age, the castle is also famous for its commitment to live and local music: gigs six days per week,  offering emerging and established talents a platform to take the throne and shine like royalty. Find out more about them here.

Jack Robins

Nature In The City

Masterminded by German-born Robert Sellin, Nature in the City are a folk-rock band that culminates cross-cultural experiences into art. What started out one year ago as a duo, soon turned into a full band with violin, drums, and bass. From Boston to Berlin and now Naarm, their music doesn’t just bring immaculate grooves to the table, it shares an introspective exploration of the mundane concerns of day-to-day life.

Steamboat Whistlers

If you’re a fan of early New Orleans jazz and blues, then the Steamboat Whistlers are sure to get you tapping on your toes! With a saxophone, banjo, as well as washboard and traps included in the tool cabinet, the sextet brings an amazing amalgam of musical genres that includes traditional jazz, depression-era blues, ragtime and spirituals.

Being both a songwriter and trained actress, Szara Fox brings a sum of those two parts greater than the whole! Joining her is trumpet player Andrew Darling, bringing his full-hearted brass technique to create an instrumental performance that’s both impassioned and full of resonance.

Suzie So Blue
