A new single from Seattle ‘sci-pop’ band Hotels
A new single from Seattle ‘sci-pop’ band Hotels, which will not, despite all my knob twiddling, play loudly enough. I just know it would sound better if I had fifty more decibels at my disposal. As it is, The Shadows-style surf guitars, unsmiling rhythm and goth-influenced vocals sound flat and distant. The occasional schlock-y trill of a theramin suggests that some playful things are going on in this song; I only wish I could tell you what they are.
