Sydney producer Guerre isn’t so much of a musician as he is a goddamn hypnotist. Impossibly calming, affectingly sensual, Rashad (Loose Pace) is a wonderfully lucid dream. There are shades of James Blake in the restrained blend of tones, but there’s a more realised sense of intimacy present. Promising stuff from an all-too enigmatic rising figure in Australia’s nascent electronica-R&B scene.
