Perth’s Fifi Mondello models herself after Diana Ross but sounds like a wedding singer. Taken from her debut mini-album, It’s True is a sixties-inspired bubblegum pop song with forgettable lyrics, a retread melody and tinny production values. Fifi’s voice lacks the gravitas of those sixties belles – no agony, no ecstasy, no hysteria, just the airy twittering of a half-talent wannabe.
