Craig Richards: Fabric 58

fabric58.jpg

Craig Richards mixed Fabric 01 ten years ago back in 2001 along with Fabric 15 alongside Lee Burridge as Tyrant. So fittingly is it that Craig as Fabric’s musical director is behind Fabric 58 The Nothing Special compilation, which in contrast to the title is damn good. Reflecting the diversity and steadfast nature he is renowned for as the mix ebbs and flows in a timeless manner. A trio of tracks with Come Closer by Melchior Productions a few tracks in followed by At The Party by Gemini and then Flying Saucers by Housey Doingz with quirky spacey beats exemplify Craig’s ability and knowledge in blending tracks. Second half of album, as pace picks up, is Joel Mulls Leaving Ground, Room 202 written by Steve Bug and Premiata by Convextion all well known in the genre of techno. Many a Fabric compilations have far exceeded this one, but its still is a diverse collection of good quality tracks.
