The second (very excellent) single from Moonfire is a swinging indie pop hookfest with curious lyrics: “I remember sitting back on my balcony, I was listening to the Rolling Stones. See I was waiting for my dad to come home from work, so I could show all the chords that I’d learned. See I was under the impression I was gonna lead some kind of simple understated life, but now I’m living in the shadows of memory and I hope so…” The thought trails off just like that, a vivid personal anecdote that is weirdly arrested – which is fine, except I can think about when I hear this song is what happened?
