Hauntville
Hauntville offers a smorgasbord of scares ranging from kid-friendly spooks to nightmare-inducing thrills. They’ve got CarnEvil games, featuring a zombie head ring toss, Angry Crows, and a kissing booth with a freaky twist; spooky performers; a haunted graveyard; and three houses of horror including a coffin warehouse, a twisted circus and a carnival of demonic clowns. Plus, there’s a Haunted Food Festival and Fright Night Food Bar, because nothing is scarier than having to go hungry. Hauntville runs from Friday October 26 to Sunday October 28 at Burnley Park. Luna Dark
Luna Parks’ evil twin is coming out to play this month and like every good Halloween party, Luna Dark will feature a House of Horrors full of fearful things lurking in the dark. But, if you think you’re safe out in the open – think again. There will be plenty of monsters and ghouls crawling the grounds. Plus you can have some fun with haunted face painting and a Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween photo studio then catch some wicked tunes courtesy of The Strays. Luna Dark is open from 6pm – 11pm from Friday October 26 – Tuesday October 31 (open until midnight on Saturday night) and 11am – 5pm on Saturday October 27 and Sunday October 28. Spooktober
Spooktober will keep you on your toes, with HalloQueen drag performances, tricks with Magician Ben Murphy, and entertainment courtesy of Count Carlisle, Empress Stilt Walkers and DJ Miss Spookalicious. There will also be an epic trick or treat trail, Halloween themed games and activities, a costume competition, a food truck village and haunted spirits bar and three interactive haunted houses. Choose from a bewitching experience in The Coven, a fearful fright in Phobia, an escape room like no other in Escape The Swamp or go for the triple whammy and visit all three. Spooktober is going down from Wednesday October 31 to Sunday November 4 at St Kilda Town Hall and surrounding grounds. Entry is free, head to the website for more details.
LuWOW Halloween
If you’re after something a little more non-conventional, LuWOW Halloween has got you covered. A Tiki-party meets zombie zoo, this monster of an event is a beast in itself. Costumes are compulsory, so be sure to don your very best animal-inspired costume – or else. There will be tunes from Cramps cover band Hypno Sex Ray and Anna Lee & The Double Lovers to keep you dancing until your knees are weak, plus Tiki-themed decor, LuWOW cocktails, party games and a whole lot of mischief. Think you’ve got what it takes to host your own terrifying Halloween party? Lombard Halloween are your one-stop shop for all things freaky. These guys have been scaring the masses since 1969, so you can guarantee they can give you a hand designing your own nightmarish wonderland.
