Avenged Sevenfold hit Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena in October with Coheed and Cambria, and Thornhill.
Avenged Sevenfold are heading back to Australia and New Zealand this October for their first shows in over a decade.
The Avenged Sevenfold Melbourne date lands at Rod Laver Arena on 20 October as part of a four-date arena run that also takes in Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland. Coheed and Cambria and Melbourne heavyweights Thornhill join as special guests on all shows. Tickets go on sale 17 April at 11am local time, with presales running from 15 April.
The band — comprising M. Shadows, Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengeance, Johnny Christ and Brooks Wackerman — last toured Australia in 2014, making this a 12-year wait. In the time since, they released their eighth studio album Life Is But a Dream… in June 2023 through Warner Records, a sharp creative pivot into existential and avant-garde territory that the band has been touring the world behind since.

How to get tickets and presale access
An artist presale opens 15 April at 10am and runs through to 17 April at 10am. Priority access is available for A7X’s Deathbats Club and Deathbats Rewards Ticketpass holders, whose request window opens 14 April at 6am AEST via Ticketmaster. The system uses the band’s verification-based rewards platform, designed to protect fans from bots and scalpers. Mastercard holders in Australia have a separate presale from 15 April at 10am, while the Live Nation presale opens 16 April at 11am. General tickets are available from 17 April at 11am local time.
Thornhill bring hometown muscle to the bill
Joining the tour is Thornhill, whose third studio album BODIES arrived in April 2025 through UNFD. That record followed their ARIA-nominated 2022 album Heroine and cemented the Melbourne band as one of the country’s most vital heavy exports. The Rod Laver Arena support slot marks another major step up for a group that has spent recent years scaling from club shows to international headline runs.
Coheed and Cambria complete the lineup
Coheed and Cambria, the New York progressive rock outfit fronted by Claudio Sanchez, round out a stacked bill. The band — which also features Travis Stever, Josh Eppard and Zach Cooper — last appeared in Australia at the 2024 Monolith Festival, performing their 2005 album Good Apollo I’m Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness in full. Their current album cycle centres on The Father of Make Believe.
The Avenged Sevenfold Melbourne stop will be a significant moment on the local heavy music calendar. The band has sold millions of albums worldwide, scored two consecutive number one records on the Billboard 200 with Nightmare and Hail to the King, and racked up over a billion combined Spotify streams and video views.
