Alicia follows chart smash Girl On Fire with this oddly tempered piano ballad. There is a strange and lovely dynamic between the smooth vocal melody and the tripping piano notes; the submerged rumble of bass drum is also kind of beautiful. The tune peaks in a latter-day-Michael Jackson fashion, which sounds much better than it sounds – a remarkable work of production and arrangement that transforms a pretty ordinary song and all-too-cheesy singer into something really remarkable.
