Local songwriter Ali E (Damn Terran) has released a pacey but atmospheric new single from her forthcoming debut solo album. The guitars buzz and hum in a slightly breathless rhythm and Ali’s voice, drenched in reverb, expands to fill the gaps. A slapping 4/4 drum beat kicks after a few moments which is actually a little distracting, propelling the song forward at an uncomfortable pace that seems on the verge of collapse.
