Australian exclusives include renowned Belgian choreographer and dancer Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker’s groundbreaking dance work Rosas danst Rosas, Daughters of Donbas from Ukraine and Canada, and Orange Blossom from France. Bhutan Balladeers mark the festival’s first Bhutanese artists, joining previously announced Yolngu rapper and dancer Baker Boy, American singer-songwriter Iron & Wine, Irish folk band Beoga and ABC’s Pacific Break winner Mantis from Vanuatu.

Since 1992, WOMADelaide has attracted thousands of visitors to Adelaide’s Botanic Park for this extraordinary festival of world music, arts and dance. No two lineups are ever the same, with audiences immersing themselves in the full festival experience beyond just music.

Around the Park program includes stunning trampoline and tightrope works by French dance-circus Cie Hors Surface with Le poids des Nuages & HOME by Damien Droin. Artistic hairdressers Osadía from Spain turn unsuspecting audience members into walking works of art through colourful makeup and hair, while Stan’s Café from the UK presents Of All The People In All The World, using piles of rice to represent human population statistics. Born in a Taxi from Australia delivers five different roving shows across their residency.

Returning staples include Taste the World where artists cook dishes from home, WoMarkets with over 40 retail stalls, KidZone with hands-on arts activities for children, Planet Talks sessions discussing environmental and global issues, and The Sanctuary Restaurant at Adelaide Zoo.

Director Ian Scobie says few festivals in the world showcase the breadth and diversity of music, arts and dance from across the globe on such a large scale while appealing to audiences of all ages and tastes. WOMADelaide creates an opportunity to discover new sounds and embrace artists you love.

Further announcements featuring more international and homegrown artists will be revealed in November.
