Win: We’re giving away the ultimate George Thorogood experience

George Thorogood
Words by Staff Writer

Guitar god George Thorogood is giving 10 lucky fans (and their guests) the ultimate pre-show experience at his Melbourne Forum gig on April 21.

In a move that’ll have blues-rock diehards reaching for their bourbon, George Thorogood & The Destroyers are offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness rock royalty in their natural habitat.

The legendary axeman is throwing open the Forum Theatre doors early on April 21, inviting 10 lucky winners (plus guests) to an exclusive soundcheck experience before the Melbourne leg of The Baddest Show on Earth tour kicks off, plus tickets to the gig.

This isn’t just about watching the man tune up. Winners will have the chance to submit their burning question for George at soundcheck, with the blues-rock icon answering his favourite questions during the intimate pre-show ritual.

After nearly five decades of melting faces worldwide and 15 million albums sold, Thorogood knows a thing or two about giving the people what they want. The Delaware Destroyer and his band – featuring Jeff Simon (drums), Bill Blough (bass), Jim Suhler (rhythm guitar) and Buddy Leach (saxophone) – have built their legendary status through explosive live performances since 1976.

  1. Ensure you include your question for George
  2. Winners must share their experience at soundcheck on their socials.
Enter your details into the below field and subscribe to Beat’s newsletter in order to enter the competition. Entrants must be 18+. You will receive regular newsletter updates from Beat and competition partners. Winners will be contacted directly via email. The competition closes April 18, 2025. Winners and their guests score tickets to both the exclusive soundcheck experience AND the full headline show at Melbourne’s iconic Forum Theatre – a rare intimate setting compared to the band’s arena appearances supporting ZZ Top elsewhere on the tour.

Tickets for George Thorogood headline shows, as well as supporting shows with ZZ Top are on sale now. For more information,  head here.
