Polaroid has turned a Poké Ball into a working instant camera. One lucky Beat reader is set to win a camera and seven packs of film, and entering couldn't be easier.
Nine pieces make up the Polaroid x Pokémon Special Edition collection, which Polaroid is calling its biggest collaboration to date. Three cameras anchor it: a Polaroid Now Generation 3 in Poké Ball red, white and black, and two Polaroid Go Generation 3 bodies, one yellow Pikachu, one pink-and-blue Sylveon.
Film and accessories fill out the rest. Every pack prints with its own Pokémon border, and the darkslide that sits at the top of the pack, normally destined for the bin, carries a Pokémon silhouette instead. Australian stock went up for pre-order on 26 August through JB Hi-Fi, with the full release following on 5 October.
One lucky Beat reader will win:
- 1 x Pokémon x Polaroid NOW Instant Camera Gen 3
- 7 x packs of film

Those darkslides come with a scheme attached. Scan five of them as a Polaroid member and you unlock a code for a free film pack when you buy five of the same eligible packs, which runs until 31 January 2027. Polaroid has also capped how much any one account can hoard: three of each camera, three of each accessory and 15 of each film pack.
Pokémon turns 30 this year, having first appeared in Japan in 1996. Polaroid has a longer run behind it, founded in 1937 by Edwin Land, who put the first Land camera out in 1947 and the SX-70 in 1972. The company stopped making instant film in 2008, and the last factory in the Netherlands was rescued by a group of enthusiasts trading as The Impossible Project, which is why the brand exists to sell you a Sylveon camera in 2026.
