Void of Vision enter new territory making music ‘for musicians by musicians’

Void of Vision
Words by Lucas Radbourne

Melbourne metal heavyweights Void of Vision have spoken about breaking new ground on THE LONELY PEOPLE, ahead of a 2022 national tour.

Void of Vision have announced a rescheduled 2022 national tour alongside the release of their new single THE LONELY PEOPLE, with frontman Jack Bergin admitting the process of writing during the COVID-19 pandemic has changed his outlook.

“’THE LONELY PEOPLE’ is a song for musicians by musicians,” he said.

“For the first time in my life as a musician I was sharing the same experience as so many other artists, strangely connected and suffering simultaneously.”

While Void of Vision has always been a deeply personal project for Begin, who relishes in unpacking his own mental health struggles, he says the band’s latest track has an uplifting undertone based out of a newfound sense of community.

“Through the extremely isolating timeline that really just had no end in sight, with setback after setback, the insane desire to create and perform reached new unearthly levels,” he continued.

“I feel like we’re witnessing a rebirth of so many calloused individuals that were faced with an impossible adversity. The past year has left us all with this insatiable appetite and an unspoken bond formed between the entire music community.

“We’re all willing to do anything we can to bring our art back into frame, and deep down know that we’re not alone there.”

THE LONELY PEOPLE is a hard-hitting three-minute metal explosion, highlighted by Bergin’s vocal flexibility. The band hit the road in January, and are expected at the Corner Hotel on January 13.
