Jarlath Regan, the Irish stand-up comic behind countless viral clips, is bringing his highly anticipated new show to Australian shores this November.

The comedian has amassed hundreds of millions of views across social platforms with his uniquely relatable observational comedy that steers clear of controversy in favour of universal, family-friendly laughs.

After taking the UK, Ireland and US by storm with his previous show Yer Man, Regan’s new offering promises to be his funniest collection of material yet.

“In Bits is a show I have been working on for a few years. It’s by far the funniest collections of bits I’ve ever written,” Regan explains. “What can people expect? A brand-new hour of stand up designed to make every single member of the family laugh. If you’ve seen my stuff on Instagram, you’ll know what I mean. My comedy isn’t about triggering people. It’s about that beautiful moment of distraction we might get once a day when we rock our head back and laugh. I’m going to give you that for more than an hour!!!”

Regan first found comedy when Father Ted star Ardal O’Hanlon spotted him performing at university and invited him to support on tour. Since then, he’s built a solid reputation as “an expert storyteller” according to The Arts Desk, who awarded his show four stars.

The comedian has also carved out a successful podcasting career with his award-winning Irishman Abroad series, which has topped charts for over a decade featuring guests like Sir Bob Geldof, Mary Robinson and Paul Mescal. He also co-hosts Honey! You’re Ruining Our Kid! with his wife Tina.

Critical acclaim has followed Regan throughout his career, with The Herald awarding him a perfect five-star review, praising his “subtle yet sublime helping of observational wit,” while The Irish Times described him as “downright hilarious…comedy genius.”

Edinburgh Festivals Magazine noted that Regan “had the audience shaking so violently with laughter they probably could have charged their phones.”

In a world of relentlessly bleak news, Regan’s show offers a much-needed break from the negativity, inviting audiences to make space for genuine laughter without the edge.
