Vinyl Art Still Alive with Twerps’ Double Release

Back from a United States tour, Melbourne-based Twerps has a treat for their local followers. Their two new singles, Black Eyes 7” and She Didn’t Know 7”, are not only available in vinyl form, but have matching covers.

That’s right; matching covers. Music and Art are a couple once more. And we all thought they’d broken up.

When opened up together, the covers will form “a magical panorama”. The only problem is, they’re in limited supply. Next Friday marks the launch of the dual singles, and may be the only chance to pick them both up.

It sounds like something from the ‘60s. Kids, this is one record you can’t download. Not even in .pdf form.

Flaunting their fresh U.S. association, both singles are on New York labels. Underwater Peoples is behind Black Eyes, while Group Tightener is responsible for She Didn’t Know. The real kudos, though, goes to Matlok Griffiths, the Melbourne painter behind the matching covers.

For those who aren’t into the aesthetic pleasure of cover art, Black Eyes and She Didn’t Know can also be listened to at Bandcamp. And just to prove that they’re not that old fashioned, Twerps has a Facebook as well.
