Big Scary Unleash Killer Single

Locked away in a secluded recording studio prison for the past two months, the Melbourne duo have barely raised a peep. Their self-imposed sentence, however, has now come to an end.

The parole papers have been signed. They’re back in the wild.

Yet one need not feel frightened by their return. Unless, of course, you’re allergic to the sweet sounds of piano, or Tom Iansek’s hypnotising vocals.

Mix Tape is the pair’s latest offering, an upbeat single with a killer build-up. It will be the band’s first release since their 2010 Four Seasons LP, and can be purchased on iTunes and Bandcamp. If you’d prefer a copy to hold – complete with its own personalised number – you can order one here. If online transactions scare you, though, just head to their website. They won’t bite.

To mark the release of Mix Tape, Big Scary will be haunting your local neighbourhood. All of Australia’s important capital cities will get a taste of the two-piece over the next couple of months.

At first, they will be stalking The Grates, between Friday June 17 and Friday July 1. Their next prey will be Liam Finn, between the Friday August 19 and Saturday August 27.

Big Scary’s yet-to-be-titled debut album will be unleashed in October. Until then, you can enjoy Iansek’s side project, Dads. Titled Man of Leisure, his new album couldn’t be less threatening. It can be purchased here.
