True North Festival Unveils Full 2015 Program

truenorth.jpg

This year’s vibrant three-day music and arts program features something for everyone, with offerings from old blues to jazz to Balkan. Some of 2015’s events include a 10-piece ensemble performing songs from Vietnam to Venezuela; a showcase of emerging musical acts each featuring at least one resident of the north; and a juke blues explosion at Reservoir’s End of the Line Bar. Fans of the classics are in for a treat with a performance by the only trumpet orchestra in Australia and those looking to get moving can throw on the lycra for a morning dancercise session. Jazz lovers can indulge in songs made popular by the greats while a Macedonian trio will get you out of your seats and onto the dancefloor.

The festival will also feature a range of exhibitions, plays, gigs and events at artist studios, theatres and warehouses around Darebin. The festival’s partnership with the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) in 2015 will see a range of emerging theatre works as part of the FR!SK series. The festival will also feature a number of interactive arts workshops and a two-hour bike tour, exploring public art and pop-up performances.
