Fancy yourself as an aspiring filmmaker? Then Thursday January 6 is definitely a date to pencil into your diary.
It’s the day that entries close for the 19th Annual Movie Extra Tropfest Competition, one of the world’s hottest international short film competitions.
Fiercely contested, Tropfest receives over 600 entries every year and has been the launchpad for many successful filmmakers.
Tropfest Founder and Director John Polson had this to say, “This year we really want to encourage films from different places around the world. Hopefully the opportunity to come to Australia on us and have your short film screened in front of hundreds of thousands of people around the nation at the many live outdoor events and on the Movie Extra channel, is the right sort of motivation.”
Films are to be no longer than seven minutes and must contain the 2011 Movie Extra Tropfest Signature Item – a key. Filmmakers of all ability levels are encouraged to apply.
