Helmed by Bakehouse Studios, the team are embarking on on a social history project to collect first-hand stories from artists, musicians, provocateurs, disrupters and punters alike who were there at the birth of punk.

Speakers include Dr Lisa Dethridge (Senior Lecturer RMIT School of Media and Communication), Crusader Hillis (Founder Hares and Hyenas Queer Bookshop), Bronwyn Bonney (Crime & the City Solution), Penny Ikinger (solo artist, early member Wet Taxis), Dr Stuart Grant (Lecturer in the Centre of Theatre & Performance Monash University and founding member Primitive Calculators).

Beginning at the first ‘Punk Gig’ that took place outside a sharehouse in Carlton 40 years ago, delve into questions that analyse the politics and passion behind a moment that still echoes loud across the city to this day.
