Thornbury Local's beloved live gig series is returning in April and May

The Thornbury Local is continuing their live music series throughout April and May with some fantastic gigs and events featuring top-notch local talent.

The two-storey High Street destination are a huge supporter of the ultra-local live music scene. We covered their March lineup which saw the likes of Katankin, Michael Meeking and Basement Spaceman play sets. This month, Thornbury Local have already opened their intimate performance space up to James Harvey, Crumbe, Tahnee Ollerton, Louis Cooke, Mantis and the Prayer, Sherri Parry Trio and Rosario De Marco, with a string of gigs every weekend.

The next run of weekends are no less talent-packed. Rachael Clarke and Alister Turrill are coming to the Local this Friday night, while Saturday will feature Tommy Clifas, Wilde and Shelby Lim.

As always, there’s also their regular array of weekly staples on offer if you’re looking for something to do northside on a weeknight. Every Tuesday they stage their free trivia nights hosted by Darling (and supported by $12 pizzas). On Wednesdays they do an open mic night from 8pm onwards (supported by $12 burgers) and on Thursdays, it’s happy hour between 5-11pm and the kitchen dishes out $1 buffalo wings and buffalo cauliflower bites and $9 pints.
